School in Plombières

Because of its location at the entrance of the village, the new school in Hombourg, it could become the mediator between the people and the countryside. With a plot of large surface, we can afford to develop the entire program in a floor. This helps reduce costs, optimize the construction and simplify the flow of users in general and persons with reduced mobility, in particular.

The building is modestly inserted in the scale of the village and the surrounding nature. For this, the front part of the street is broken down into several volumes, avoiding the image of a very large building to the surrounding reality. Our project includes a kindergarten and primary school, implanted in order to satisfy a double bioclimatic and child protection requirement. On one hand, he must capture solar energy to reduce heating costs, and on the other hand must ensure that the circulations of students access to the building and external equipment, are carried out safely.

The building is U-shaped, with the playground inside. The entrance hall divides traffic between kindergarten and primary classes. The entrance is preceded by a porch. The space in front of the building becomes a high quality public space.

The amphitheater is designed as a multipurpose room capable of accommodating a theater, a gym class, etc. The space is directly linked to outer space.

Recess is not only accessible from the building, but also from the street, allowing its use outside school hours. This place could well accommodate a playground open after school .
