Cinto surroundings

The reactivation and enhancement of the environment of the Cinto de Borja (Zaragoza) is now a reality after the execution and commissioning of urban space regeneration projects through the creation of a plaza in San Bartolomé street and recovery of the walker from connection of Calle Planilla and Calle Trévedes, as well as reform of Plaza Planilla and paving of Mateo Sánchez Street, all in the Historic District of Borja. In this way a succession of public spaces of interest for the citizen is formed and at the same time allows to show the charm of the Cinto neighborhood to tourists and visitors with a historical tour through its streets, squares and green areas until reaching the highest area of Borja in which is the rocky mass called Castle.

Continuing with the line of action, the third phase contemplates the vegetalization and eco-efficiency of networks, as well as the creation of a children’s playground, giving continuity to the strategies proposed for the activation of the plot and regeneration of urban spaces in the Cinto surroundings.

The aim is to plant the environment of the Cinto that does not currently have green spaces, taking into account the orography of the land, creating routes and areas of stay through the planting of trees of medium height (reforestation) and other shrub and aromatic species that cover the slopes. The objective is to create a green mass that oxygenates and freshens the area.

Creation of a CHILDREN’S ZONE, in the union of the diverse performances, protected from the step and surrounded by green zone as a delimitation, that allows the use and enjoyment of the smallest ones within the rehabilitated zone. This is a requirement of the most demanded by the inhabitants of the neighborhood, as there is no such provision in the upper area of the municipality.

Continuing with previous actions, we propose the placement of reused pallets forming the dividing wall. With the intention of improving the EFFICIENCY in the use of public networks, it is foreseen the installation of a rainwater collection and recovery reservoir at the foot of the rocky area from which water flows at seasons.

All of the above is aimed at the principles of eco-efficiency and sustainability, so that the activation of the environment of the belt represents a substantial improvement in all environmental aspects, value of heritage, tourism, economic, etc.
